85,000 ton per year phthalic anhydride plant. Technology is the von Heyden Process where o-xylene and air are converted to phthalic anhydride in
five (5) fixed bed reactors with 12,000tubes. Phthalic anhydride is separated by desublimation in fourteen (14) switch condensers and is purified by vacuum distillation. Exothermic reaction is used to
generate steam.
