The CR8 butadiene extraction plant was built in 1988 and was stopped due to excess capacity in relation to demand.
Based on a process Nippon Zeon of selective extraction with dimethylformamide, the plant, fed with the C4 fraction from the cracking located in the same site, is able to produce 60,000 t / year of butadiene, corresponding to an average of about 185 t / day (210 during the winter months), with a standard title equal to 99.6%.
