Anhydrous Caustic Soda (NaOH) Plant – 125KT

Located at Runcorn Site, the ACS plant uses the Bertram process to produce anhydrous caustic soda in prill and solid drum form. The plant was built in 1985 and has a nominal capacity of 125kTe/year with 80% of the product as ‘prill’ and the remainder as solid 400kg drums. Typical feedstock rates based on normal operating data were of the order of 15te/hr, 50% caustic soda, and 1300m3/hr natural gas.
